Security and Defense Strategies Application and Research Center (GÜVSAM) Coordinator İsmail Hakkı Pekin spoke at the panel titled "15 July: Attempt to Occupy Türkiye" organized by the Rectorate for the 15 July Democracy and National Unity Day.
The panel titled "15 July: Attempt to Occupy Türkiye" organized by the Rectorate for the 15 July Democracy and National Unity Day started with the speech of our Rector Prof. Dr. Erkan İbiş commemorating the martyrs of 15 July.
Following Rector İbiş, Security and Defense Strategies Application and Research Center (GÜVSAM) Coordinator İsmail Hakkı Pekin gave a speech about the dark night.
Reminding that the Turkish nation, with its usual foresight, resisted the treacherous invasion attempt on July 15, 2016, Pekin said, “We must appreciate that the people recognize democracy and stand behind the Republic of Türkiye. It is not easy for Türkiye to be captured or dismantled easily, but we need to be alert against dark plans."
"OUR GREATEST STRENGTH IS OUR NATIONAL UNITY AND SOLIDARITY"
Describing the tests and struggles of the Turkish states for the survival of the state on the stage of history, Pekin continued his words as follows:
“I attach great importance to these commemoration days where we emphasize national unity and solidarity. This state, together with its people, resisted the invasion attempt. It also taught a great lesson to those who would attempt to invade.
We need to remember those days; we need to pass them on to our students and children. Our greatest power against traitors is to act with the idea of national unity and solidarity.
Pekin expressed: "From here, I once again commemorate our July 15 martyrs with mercy and bow down to their spiritual peace with respect and love."
