Istinye University Faculty of Communication hosted Lieutenant General (Retired) Ismail Hakkı Pekin, former Chief of the Intelligence for General Staff, for a panel on "The Ethical Role of Media in the Palestine-Israel Conflict." The panel was moderated by the Dean of the Faculty of Communication, Prof. Yalçın KIRDAR, and Lecturer Zehra Zuhal SERT.
During the panel, the ethical challenges faced by the media during times of conflict were discussed, examining the power of media in the times of change in 'world order' and the fluctuating ethical values. The panel questioned whether the global media has failed in fulfilling its duty of providing information and delved into the responsibilities of the media in the context of the ongoing conflicts, particularly the Palestine-Israel conflict.
