Istinye University ranked among the foundation universities with the highest number of publications in the The Council of Higher Education (CoHE) ‘University Monitoring and Assessment General Report’

The Council of Higher Education (CoHE) (‘YÖK’, in Turkish) in Türkiye has released the "University Monitoring and Assessment General Report," which annually assesses institutions that generate and disseminate knowledge in the Turkish higher education system. In the Report prepared within the scope of regular studies conducted by the CoHE to support the functioning of universities and assess their performances since 2019, Istinye University ranked among the top foundation universities with the highest number of published works per academic staff in indexed journals and books. The report includes data up to the year 2023. 

An assessment was made based on 74 different indicators 

An evaluation was conducted on 74 different indicators regarding the mission and vision adopted by educational institutions, assessing their qualitative and quantitative developments. In the report, which encompasses the main categories of "Education and Instruction," "Research and Development, Projects, and Publications," "Internationalization," and "Community Service and Social Responsibility," previously featured in recent years, the scope was expanded. As of the year 2023, the "Sustainability" category was also included in this year's report, with evaluations conducted on 74 different indicators, including 52 as 'main indicators.' The data for the study were collected not only from updated information provided by universities but also through different databases and the CoHE’s 'YOKSIS Monitoring Criteria Module.' 

ISU in the list of the top 5 universities with the highest publication rate 

According to data analyzing the distribution among 208 universities continuing education activities in Türkiye, taking into account the universities' own historical data, Istinye University ranked 1st based on the ratio of publications with international collaboration in indexed journals and books. ISU, the 4th private foundation university with the highest ratio of publications with international collaboration in indexed journals and books, maintained its position in the top 5 universities with the highest publication ratios. Istinye University also improved its success graph by being among the top four private foundation universities in terms of the average number of publications per faculty member in indexed journals and books.

In terms of academic performance indicators, considering past data, ISU, consistently showing development, continued its success in the top three universities. ISU remained one of the top three universities in the highest 10% percentile of cited publications, continuing its increasing success among universities with the highest number of cited publications in this field, making it one of the top three universities in this area. 

Istinye University's 'vision of internationalization'

Istinye University, which is among the top three universities maintaining a stable development in the context of international exchange programs and has one of the highest numbers of incoming students, adopted the vision of 'internationalization' in line with its core values. In the 2021-2022 academic year, the university continued its upward trend in terms of the number of associate, undergraduate, and postgraduate students coming to Türkiye through Erasmus and similar international exchange programs or collaboration protocols between universities. As a result, it secured its place among the top three universities in the category, maintaining a consistent development.
