According to the University Ranking by Academic Performance (URAP) Türkiye data, Istinye University (ISU), which showed a successful performance as the fastest-rising university in the past academic year, has continued to excel in research and academic performance over the past year.
In the URAP ranking for the 2022-2023 academic year, Istinye University was ranked 103rd. With a one-year performance improvement, it climbed 46 places in the ranking to reach the 57th position for the 2023-2024 academic year. In the two-year comparison list of URAP Türkiye rankings, Istinye University achieved the most significant improvement, rising by 46 places.
In the rankings for foundation universities, Istinye University jumped from 19th place in the previous year to 11th place in the 2023-2024 list. In the list of medical faculties at universities, it rose from 67th place in the previous year to 45th place in the 2023-2024 ranking.
Istinye University places a strong emphasis on enhancing its research and development activities and improving its performance, along with fostering national and international collaborations. The improvements in the last two years' rankings are detailed as follows:
In the 2022-2023 and 2023-2024 rankings:
1. Article score increased from 106.32 points to 155.16 points.
2. Citation score increased from 87.62 points to 116.5 points.
3. Scientific document score increased from 93.48 points to 119.72 points.
4. Doctorate score increased from 15.80 points to 51.42 points.
5. International collaboration score increased from 57.72 points to 74.98 points.
6. Domestic collaboration score increased from 43.66 points to 50.21 points.
7. TÜBİTAK project score increased from 66.94 points to 75.33 points.
The indicators used in the 2023-2024 URAP Türkiye rankings include parameters such as the number of articles, articles per faculty member, citation counts, total scientific documents, international co-authored articles per faculty member, and the number of projects received from TÜBİTAK (The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Türkiye). The number of articles in high-impact journals (Q1, Q2, and Q3) plays a significant role in achieving high rankings on these lists.
Istinye University stands out as the university with the most significant progress in the URAP Türkiye rankings. In the 2022-2023 rankings among foundation universities, it rose from the 38th to the 19th position. During the same period, in the category encompassing all universities, including both foundation and state universities, ISU climbed 43 places and demonstrated itself as the university with the most significant development and progress in the 2022 academic year.
