The Turkish Physical Society's 39th International Physics Congress took place at the Herodot Cultural Center between August 31 and September 4, 2023, hosted by Bodrum Municipality.
The Scientific Committee Chair of the congress was Prof. Dr. Oğuz GÜLSEREN from Bilkent University, while the Advisory Committee Chair was Prof. Dr. K. Yavuz EKŞİ from Istanbul Technical University, and the Organization Committee Chair was Prof. Dr. Ertan GÜDEKLİ from Istanbul University.
Concurrently with the opening ceremony and scientific sessions of the Turkish Physical Society's 8th Physics Students Congress and Festival, also took place during the same dates, the "2nd Physics Natural Event Imaging Photo Contest" was organized.
The events of the year 2023, organized by The Turkish Physical Society in commemoration of the 100th anniversary of the Republic of Türkiye and with the support of Istinye University, commenced with an opening ceremony held on August 31, 2023, at the Bodrum Municipality Herodotus Cultural Center.
As part of the support provided for The Turkish Physical Society's activities, during the opening ceremony held on August 31, 2023, our Rector, Prof. Dr. Erkan İBİŞ, was presented with a certificate of appreciation and a plaque by the President of The Turkish Physical Society, Prof. Dr. Baki Akkuş, the President of TÜBA (Turkish Academy of Sciences), Prof. Dr. Muzaffer Şeker, and the Vice Pesident of TENMAK (Turkish Energy, Nuclear and Mineral Research Agency), Prof. Dr. Uğur Çevik.
Among the faculty members of our University's Department of Basic Sciences, Prof. Dr. Serkant Ali Çetin served as the Chairman of the Advisory Board for the 15th National Particle Accelerators and Detectors Summer School and as a member of the Scientific Committees for the 39th International Physics Congress and the 8th Physics Students Congress. Prof. Dr. Sertaç Öztürk and Dr. Assistant Professor Onur Buğra Kolcu also participated as members of the Advisory Board for the 15th National Particle Accelerators and Detectors Summer School.
Within the framework of the events held at Bodrum Municipality Herodot Cultural Center, Prof. Dr. Erkan İbiş, the Rector of Istinye University, was presented with a certificate of appreciation by the Turkish Physical Society's 39th International Physics Congress. He also delivered a speech at the opening ceremony of the Turkish Physics Society's 8th Physics Students Congress and Festival on the same day.
The congress served as a valuable platform for scientists active in the field of physics in Türkiye, providing various sessions, presentations, and activities to facilitate a scientific sharing environment.
