Istinye University and Liv College organized "Global Discoveries Day" to increase students' global awareness and acquaint them with cultural diversity worldwide.
At stands set up in the schoolyard at the event, 4th-grade students from Liv College introduced continents and countries they researched in English classes using an interdisciplinary approach.
5th- and 6th-grade students participated in a conference on the importance of global connections led by Assist. Prof. Eylül Beyza Ateş Çiftçi, a faculty member within Istinye University’s Department of International Relations.
Flag-country and country-continent pairings were made through stand visits. Questions were drawn from a pre-prepared question pool about the countries represented at the stands. Answering the questions, students exchanged information and reinforced their global awareness while having fun.
