The event commemorating the anniversary of the plane crash in which our scientists lost their lives on November 30, 2007, as they were en route to attend a conference in Isparta, was held at Istinye University this year with a large turnout. The event, organized under the leadership of BILSEV for the past six years, provided participants with a platform for both online and physical attendance.
In the 7th Commemoration and Understanding Activity held this year, in addition to remembering the memories of our scientists lost in a tragic accident, developments in the "November 30 Campaign," expanded in scope over the past two years, were extensively discussed. The event, organized in collaboration with the Science Art Cultivation and Education Association (BILSEV), Istinye University Department of Basic Sciences, Istinye University Energy and Engineering Club, BILGI BILSEV, Ozgen Berkol Dogan Education, Culture and Solidarity Association, and YULA Studio, aimed to commemorate and understand our scientists.
Our Rector Prof. Dr. Erkan İbiş, Vice Rectors, and especially Prof. Dr. Serkant Ali Çetin, along with the families and colleagues of our lost scientists, participated in this special event where the question, "What would be our situation if we understood the scientists who lost their lives?" was particularly emphasized. Beyond commemorating our scientists, the details of efforts to spread this understanding throughout the country were also shared.
Another element contributing to the significance of the night was the piano recital by Prof. Dr. Tofigh Allahviranloo, a faculty member of the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences at Istinye University. Participants, experiencing emotional moments during this event, once again emphasized the importance of efforts to commemorate and understand our scientists.
