The Social Work Department of Istinye University Faculty of Health Sciences has made a pioneering and unique publication in the field of social work in Türkiye. On March 17-18, 2023, at the Istinye University Topkapi Campus, with the support of the Friedrich Ebert Foundation (FES), a workshop titled "Social Services and Social Work in Disasters" was held. The final report of the workshop, which saw the participation of employees from The Ministry Of Family, Labour And Social Services of The Republic of Türkiye, Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, Association for Solidarity with Asylum Seekers and Migrants, Support to Life Association, as well as academics from various universities, has been prepared in e-book format and is made available for free access by professionals in the field of social work.
Initiated by the Istinye University Faculty of Health Sciences Social Service Department, this book is the result of an original study that is the first of its kind in Türkiye: an e-book containing practical knowledge, emphasizing the importance of social services and social work in disasters and providing access for those working in the field and those interested in the subject. Published by the Research, Documentation, and Training Foundation for Social Services (SABEV), the book serves as a comprehensive resource for relevant experts to benefit from wide perspective.
